Bonjour!

It was far too cold to take a photo outside so my bedroom wall will have to do. We went to DFO to do some shopping and I haven't worn this jumper in foreverrrrrrr. When putting this jumper on I realised that I always buy jumpers in smaller sizes (well, they're just the largest sizes that the straight sized stores sell) and they always don't fit like they were intended to. On me they end up being crop sweaters which (for the most part is just how I like 'em)

Oh, and... I FOUND TWINKIES! Oh man! you don't understand how excited I was! Granted, they were $3 each but hey, I can justify that for rare American imported treats. It made me want to fly back to America and go back to Brooklyn and eat them in Vineapple Cafe while typing up a thesis or something on my laptop.

Kitengi felt she needed to be included in this post too. She's spending more and more time upstairs and is sleeping on our bed again which is excellent. She's acting like a little kitten lately and is really into taking selfies haha

Hollywood Costume

Last week I caught up with a friend from Sydney. It turned out to be cold and windy and pretty overcast which was sucky but that didn't stop us from having some fun in the city! We had lunch at my fave Japanese place in the city and didn't shut up for ages haha we had quite a lot to catch up on.

After lunch we treated ourselves to cupcakes and coffee at Little Cupcakes down Degraves St. Then head to the Hollywood Costume Exhibition.

I was so bummed that we couldn't take any photos! The people inside the exhibition were patrolling the floor and were keeping an intense eye on everyone making sure not one photo was taken (I'm sure some people would've slipped through and taken some gems but we were fairly unlucky in that department.). There were so many iconic costumes! I was honestly not expecting as many costumes to be shown. It was magnificent. We arrived fairly late in the day so we didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to study everything but nevertheless it was fantastic. If anyone is keen to check it out, its open for another week at ACMI in Federation Square.

Standing in places

These photos are all basically the same except I'm standing in different directions to the sun. Sam is my little photographer and, well, lets just be blunt, he could be better haha
We stayed at Sams folks place while they were away for a few nights just so we could be out of our house for a little while. Change of scenery, I guess. We went for an awesome breakfast at a cafe around the corner. I've been having some major cravings for eggs and mushrooms lately. I just want to eat breakfast for every meal of the day. I also just want to wear sneakers forever. I bought these in New York because my Converse runners had just fallen apart and I had to throw them away. They are the comfiest things I've ever put on my feet. I wish I could wear runners to work. ugh

Parma Date @ The Quarter

I had to run some errands in the city and try and buy some presents before I had to go to the dentist to check up on my ridiculous wisdom teeth. I had been meaning to get a heap of my Tiffanys jewellery cleaned but had never really gotten around to it but today I finally remembered to bring the box full of tarnished pretties with me and I'm so glad I did because they look like new now! It was so upsetting walking out of Tiffanys onto boring ol' Collins St. I had kind of forgotten I was in Melbourne and was just kind of expecting to walk out on to 5th Ave in New York. Ugh.

Taylor came along with me so we could catch up and have lunch together so we head to our fave place in Degraves st, The Quarter

I feel that it's probably my mission in life to try a parma from every restaurant ever. This one was excellent but not enough sauce underneath the ham and cheese. Still worth every cent.

Nike + Trophy Wife Nails

I finallyyyyyyy decided to wear my new (to me) Ferris Bueller special edition Nikes! I've been lusting after these ever since they came out in 2008 but couldnt find them anywhere and when I started searching on eBay people were only selling mens sz 12's and I'm a ladies 8 to 9 which is like a mens 6 to 7... When they popped up in my size on ebay I HAD to have them. I was on a frantic bidding battle with someone for about half an hour trying to win these babies and it paid off haha

They have a leopard interior and matching leopard laces which I haven't taken out of the packet yet.
The design is meant to be in line with this cutiepie below. I still cant get over how on point they are!

When we left the house Sam realised we were both wearing the same style of Nikes.

I met up with my gals for nail dates with Trophy Wife Nail Art on Bridge Rd in Richmond.

I was so stumped with what designs to get but in the end settled on these. I'm so in love with how they turned out! I cant wait to get a full set of each design closer to summer, especially the drippy ice cream one.

Another OOTD feat Kitengs

It has been so cold in Melbourne! I love this weather so much but I'm not entirely equipped for it. When we moved back to my folks place to start saving, we also had to start downsizing. I sold pretty much all my wintery things and I'm only really left with the things I had left at my folks place before we ever moved out. Lately I've been layering heaps of things under my ultimate Lindsay Weir jacket. To think I almost got rid of this beauty too! I've got to start building up my winter wardrobe but I still don't really have any room to fit any more clothes haha damn it!

Kitengs really felt like she needed to show off her little fat potbelly

While we were in New York I was told by a work friend to go to Century 21 and I thank the heavens above that she suggested it! A few days into our USA trip my fave little blue, cross body bag that I take overseas with me broke so I had to get something that was practical to use for the rest of the trip and something that would still be 'Melbourne appropriate' (Even though Melbourne and New York basically feel exactly the same style wise). We got to Century 21 and Sam was being THEEEEE biggest pain in my ass. He just was not in the mood for shopping that day at all, especially not in a crowded department store. But I told him to get over it because I was on a mission. A mission to find a perfect, practical and stylish bag. We scrounged around for a while and I pushed my way to the small rack that held the Marc Jacobs bags just hoping to find a cute tote to bring back home but I found this Plum miracle.
Was it big enough to fit the necessities? Yes.
Was it cute enough? Yes.
Would it go with my wardrobe? Yes.
It ticked all the boxes! I looked at the price tag... $200USD marked down from almost $500USD
I'm the kind of girl that feels uncomfortable spending over $50 for any one item of clothing/accessories but c'mon! When the hell am I ever going to find a discounted MJ bag like this in Australia?! NEVER, thats when! I picked it up and pushed myself right on to the checkout.
